Cristated Plants
Cresting or fascination is a relatively rare condition in plants, it happens when the growth point of the plant elongates and grows outwards like a fan or a crest. This type of growth is an abnormal genetic mutation. As the cristate develops on succulent plants the leaves also shrink in size. The cristated plants can form loose clusters of small crested growth point or can grow in long twisting forms, looking like they snake across the pot. They are fascinating plants, but like all strange mutations people either love them or hate them.
